About Katie Stone PA

PXL_20200925_094806190.PORTRAIT-01_edite

I have worked in the education sector for more than 12 years in various roles - I started off as a TA which is where I fell in love with teaching and moved swiftly on to become a teacher, gaining my PGCE at the University of Manchester.

I have taught most year groups at primary level and have taken on many different responsibilities in that time, reflecting my wide range of interests - from leading a school to their eco-schools award to being an ICT co-ordinator (I'm something of a tech-nerd).

In the end, I left teaching because the hours and the stress began to have an effect on my mental health - I had a panic attack while driving home at 6 months pregnant and realised that something needed to change.

These days I am so happy that I have found a way to continue to contribute to the education sector, something I still feel very passionate about, through helping other businesses to continue to make a difference in the lives of teachers and children.

My Values

When working with someone closely on something this precious to you (your business), it's important that you can trust me.  As such I want to share with you my values, and how I guarantee that I will work, should you choose to bring me on board.

I use the following values in all my work:

  • Honesty

  • Kindness

  • Integrity

  • Professionalism

  • Reliability

All very well and good, but what does this mean that you can expect from me?

  • I will only ever accept work which I feel I can complete to the highest of standards.

  • I will treat your business with the same level of importance that I would like my business to be treated.

  • I will treat your data, information and anything else you share with me with the greatest of respect and privacy.  I will never keep hold of your data for longer than I need to.

  • When we agree to work together, we will agree on a turnaround time.  I will stick to this.  If you need anything extra, I can typically do this within 48hrs during the working week.

  • If I say I will do something, I'll do it.  If life gets in the way (as it inevitably sometimes does), I'll make sure you know in good time so that we can come up with an alternative.

  • Any working relationship should begin with clarity.  Before we decide to work together we will have a chat (whether via phone, Zoom or over email) where we will each make sure we understand our expectations of the other.  When we are both happy with those expectations, we'll sign a contract to seal the deal!

  • I am a proud member of the Society of Virtual Assistants, which means I have agreed to a Code of Conduct which makes sure that my work, and the service I provide is of the very highest standard.

  • I am professionally insured through Policy Bee, and I am registered with the ICO.  Your business is important to me, and I want it to be protected.

You can find a shortened version of my terms and conditions here, which will give you a good idea of what the contract which we both sign looks like.
